Judge Sonia Sotomayor takes the Supreme Court Judicial Oath from Chief Justice John Roberts as her mother, Celina Sotomayor, and her brother Juan Luis Sotomayor look on in the East Conference Room in Washington, Saturday.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor took the judicial oath on Saturday, becoming the first Hispanic and third woman to serve on the Supreme Court in United States history.
