Remember how the LA Times, the Washington Post, and other newspaper said, Los Angeles blacks voted against gay marriage? Remember how some people said, Blacks should be ashamed of voting against gay rights ?

You remember the big debates about Obama and Gay rights even within the black community - right?

Well, check this out. In the fight against prejudice and bigotry in the world, it appears that the Obama administration is pitting Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Rights "VS" Racism. And it appears that Gay Rights wins hands down.

OK don't hate on me for pointing it out. It's true. I guess the gay rights community had a better lobbying group than black folks. Now before you get started on me, I agree with calling for the worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality. Yet, I do have some concerns.

MSNBC reports The Obama administration will endorse a U.N. declaration calling for the worldwide decriminalization of homosexuality that then-President George W. Bush had refused to sign, The Associated Press has learned. U.S. officials said Tuesday they had notified the declaration's French sponsors that the administration wants to be added as a supporter. The Bush administration was criticized in December when it was the only western government that refused to sign on. Yet the Barack Obama administration, as reported by the The NY TImes, will not attend the second World Conference Against Racism in Geneva unless the conference’s main document improves, according to a State Department official.

The NY TImes, reports the long, unwieldy document seeks to ban criticism of religion, calls for slave reparations and attacks Israel as racist. Israel and some American Jewish groups urged a boycott of the April conference, and several close American allies, including Canada, said they would not go. The United States walked out of the first Conference Against Racism, in Durban, South Africa, in 2001, as a protest against an effort to compare Zionism to racism.



I guess the Obama administration will have to decide whether it's stands against color aroused bigotry and racism or will it stand with Israel, Canada and Italy who have announced they will boycott the forum in Geneva. S.C. 80% Black Town has 24% Unemployment Rate

Well it's clear that SC Gov Sanford is 'playing race card' not only regarding unemployment benefits but childrens education as well. Now he is responding to President Obama. H/T to Kombiz Lavasany at the DNC for the link, regarding the plight of Allendale, S.C. You see, Ronnie Jackson – the mayor of Allendale, SC – was on MSNBC today talking about the important role the economic recover funds SC Gov. Sanford wants to reject could have on economic recovery efforts in his community. While Governor Sanford is playing 2012 politics South Carolinians are suffering with unemployment rate as high as 24%.

AAPP: I'm glad that the SC Legislature is moving to overide Gov. Sanford on Stimulus Funds.
yes, South Carolina's Republican-controlled General Assembly is poised to rebuff Sanford and seek the stimulus money on its own.

There is more, as reported by LIVE5 News, Sanford wrote a letter to the President last week, asking for permission to use the money to pay off debt. That money has been earmarked for education and job creation. Read the letter Sanford wrote to President Obama here.

Sanford has criticized the $787 billion stimulus plan, saying it will lead to higher taxes and debt.

I can see why President Barack Obama has rejected SC governor's plan to pay debt with stimulus funds.

There is a big question to whether states can circumvent Anti-Stimulus Guvs? There are some people who are not taking the Governors action lightly. There are internet bloggers and activist from flooding Gov. Sanford's office with calls over the stimulus.

As reported by Denise Stewart at BlackAmericaWeb.com - Local and national pressure is mounting this week on South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford as he resists using all of that state’s federal stimulus money for the purposes set by the federal government.

South Carolina is to receive $8 billion from the massive $787 billion national stimulus package. Sanford, a Republican, wants to use about $700 million to pay down debt instead of using it to extend unemployment benefits and avoid layoffs in public schools and huge increases in college tuition.

Members of Color of Change, a national Internet-based network for black advocacy, began on Monday flooding the governor’s office with calls and will continue throughout the week, organization leaders said.

Also, a key committee in the State Senate voted Tuesday to take control of the stimulus if the governor fails to make decisions on spending it by April 3. Both the Senate and House must pass the legislation before it can take affect. More HERE

Resign, or Go Commit Suicide, not a bad idea...

Well it looks like the outrage from the public and politicians over the $165M in bonuses paid out to firm's executives is blowing back on the president and his initiatives. That is what many media outlets are reporting, including The Washington Post.

WAPO reports President Barack Obama's apparent inability to block executive bonuses at insurance giant AIG has dealt a sharp blow to his young administration and is threatening to derail both public and congressional support for his ambitious political agenda.

Get this, Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) suggested in a radio interview that AIG executives ought to " follow the Japanses model . . . resign or commit suicide."


An aide later explained he does not actually want executives to kill themselves.

AAPP: AIG executives ought to "follow the Japanese model. . . resign, or go commit suicide."

Sounds like something both AIG Executives and some of our political leaders should follow... Sen. Grassley suggestions.

The New NAACP - Leadership By Press Release

The NAACP recently filed separate lawsuits in U.S. District Court in California against two of the country’s largest lenders,Wells Fargo, and HSBC. These lawsuits allege systematic, institutionalized racism in sub-prime home mortgage lending. The remedies being asked for in the lawsuit include measures for increased accountability and transparency.

Wow, black folks from around the United States have called for measures of increased accountability and transparency "within the NAACP" for years. Now the NAACP wants to allege systematic, institutionalized racism in sub-prime home mortgage lending.

Everyone knows the mortgage industry has been doing this for years. Now NAACP, all of a sudden, after your long sleep, you wake up and smell the racism? I'm not saying the NAACP is worthless, no the local branches do great work. As an example the Mississippi is taking on State trooper discrimination. Many local branches do great work.

Yet, NAACP national is a paper tiger. Hey NAACP National, it's the regulators at the United States government, state mortgage regulators and Fannie and Freddie, that are the problem, they were the ones that allowed the mortgage lenders to do what they have done. Just like they are allowing AIG to do what it is doing.

As bloomberg.com noted some time ago, "Fannie and Freddie did this by becoming a key enabler of the mortgage crisis. They fueled Wall Street's efforts to securitize subprime loans by becoming the primary customer of all AAA-rated subprime-mortgage pools. In addition, they held an enormous portfolio of mortgages themselves.

In the times that Fannie and Freddie couldn't make the market, they became the market. Over the years, it added up to an enormous obligation. As of last June, Fannie alone owned or guaranteed more than $388 billion in high-risk mortgage investments. Their large presence created an environment within which even mortgage-backed securities assembled by others could find a ready home.

The problem was that the trillions of dollars in play were only low-risk investments if real estate prices continued to rise. Once they began to fall, the entire house of cards came down with them. More HERE

It is also the United States Government that is bailing mortgage lenders out today. Hey National office of the NAACP, like the 100 year old dinosaur that you are, your doing thinks backwards as usual.

World Conference on Racism, Slavery Reparations and Obama

File this under, Can't we just get along! There seems to be a lot of commentary on the planned World Conference on racism.

Get this, first the US withdraws from 2nd World Conference against Racism, now word is, Germany may boycott UN racism talks critical of Israel. The Folks at Monsters and Critics are reporting on how Germany may boycott a UN conference on racism, over concerns that a preparatory document is singularly critical of Israel, daily Berliner Zeitung reported Saturday. At the same time, reports Monsters and Critics a German organization promoting ties with the Jewish state is appealing for Germans to moderate their criticism of Israel's role in the Middle-East conflict.

'Germany should not yield to a UN conference that wants to accuse Israel unilaterally,' German Human Rights commissioner Guenther Nooke said of the anti-racism talks, due to take place late April in Geneva.

'We should initially try everything to change the text of the final document,' Nooke told the newspaper. 'But there will be no participation at all cost,' he added.

Several countries have criticised the fact the preparatory document specifically accuses Israel over its occupation of Palestinian territories.

Other misdeeds, such as the atrocities committed in the Darfur conflict, are not specifically named.

Meanwhile, the President of the German-Israeli Society Johannes Gerster has appealed for Germans to show greater solidarity towards Israel, in the face of the continuing Mid-East crisis. More HERE

The first conference, held in Durban in 2001, ended up with the US and Israel walking out, upset over statements of some delegates.

Maybe, just maybe, William Reed is right, when he wrote in EUR web recently, "Reparations for slavery is a proposal that some type of compensation be provided to descendants of enslaved people in consideration of the labor provided for free over several centuries, which has been a substantive and influential factor in the nation's development. The prospect of payment is not new." William Reed goes on to say:

In 1865, General William Tecumseh Sherman issued Special Field Orders, No. 15 granting each freed family forty acres of tillable land in the Georgia Sea Islands and around Charleston, South Carolina for the exclusive use of black people who had been enslaved. The army gave mules to settlers. President Andrew Johnson reversed the order after Lincoln was assassinated and the land was returned to its previous owners.

Black slaves built America for free, including the nation's Capitol and the White House. It's important that the nation's 44th President do what the 17th President did not do to properly atone for the ills of slavery - A system that gave rise to poverty, landlessness, underdevelopment, as well as to the crushing of culture and language, loss of identity, inculcation of inferiority among blacks, and the indoctrination of whites into a racist mindset - all of which continue to this day to affect the prospects and quality of Black People's lives.

America, and its companies, were "unjustly enriched" by a system that enslaved and exploited blacks. The Wall Street banks, and its investors, that the nation is writing checks to built America's infrastructure on the backs of blacks. The number of legal claimants for compensation is undetermined, but Obama could consider a $10,000 annual "slavery tax credit" to Americans who can show themselves descendents of slaves. Some two dozen members of Congress are co-sponsors of legislation to create a commission that would study reparations - that is, payments and programs to make up for the damage done by slavery.

The bill, US House of Representative Resolution 40 "Commission to Study Reparation Proposals for African-Americans Act" should be addressed so that such a commission will address who, what and how much is due. The NAACP supports the legislation. Cities around the country, including Obama's home of Chicago, have endorsed the idea, and so has a major union, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. The old dog-eared adage that "the nation couldn't afford to pay" has been eliminated with the Wall Street buyouts.

If Obama has the confidence to think outside the box, he'll realize what economic stimulus reparations payments would be. The question has always been about how America would raise money to pay reparations, but if they can bailout the infrastructure's entrepreneurs to save America, what about bailing out the people who built it? Tavis Smiley At it Again!

Interesting article by Jerimah Noonoo over at the Houston Chronicle. He writes, Tavis Smiley drew fire during last year’s presidential campaign when he chastised candidate Barack Obama for not attending the 2008 State of the Black Union forum. His critics, most of them black, were baffled that an African-American could speak out against the potential first black president.

One columnist charged that “ego was out of whack.” But the radio show host and commentator, who appears at a town hall meeting at 6:30 Friday at Houston’s Ensemble Theater, 3535 Main, maintains that he was merely doing what he had done for nearly two decades, “checking” people, or calling them out in public. In a telephone interview this week with the Chronicle’s Jemimah Noonoo, he praised President Obama and said the two had spoken half a dozen times last year during the “drama.” Read the article HERE.

73-year-old black man shot by police in Homer, La.

"If I see three or four young black men walking down the street, I have to stop them and check their names," said Mills, who is white. "I want them to be afraid every time they see the police that they might get arrested."

AAPP says: There is something going on in this country that every American should be concerned about. Hate crimes by police against black people are rising across America and it seems like no one is watching. Well, at least a few media outlets are reporting about the HATE that is rising. Howard Witt at the Chicago Tribune has been following the HATE crime in Homer, La.— He reports about how on the last afternoon of his life, Bernard Monroe was hosting a cookout for family and friends in front of his dilapidated home on Adams Street in this small northern Louisiana town.

Throat cancer had robbed the 73-year-old retired electric utility worker of his voice years ago, but family members said Monroe was clearly enjoying the commotion of a dozen of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren cavorting around him in the dusty, grassless yard.Then the Homer police showed up, two white officers whose arrival caused the participants at the black family gathering to quickly fall silent. Within moments, Monroe lay dead, shot by one of the officers as his family looked on. More HERE

Rep. Maxine Waters Under Investigation? Has she become just another crook?

Well now we should all know why Maxine Waters was so supportive of the bogus Bail Out plan of former Worst President George W. Bush, as reported by The Los Angeles congresswoman's husband had ties to OneUnited Bank, which received bailout funds. She helped set up a meeting last fall with the bank and Treasury officials.

According to Richard Simon and E. Scott Reckard of The LA Times, Rep. Maxine Waters, one of Los Angeles' most enduring liberal politicians, has come under scrutiny because of bailout funds that went to a bank in which her husband had owned stock and served on the board.Waters was a senior member of the congressional committee dealing with the financial crisis when OneUnited Bank -- one of the nation's largest minority-owned institutions -- received $12 million in bailout funds.

Her husband, Sidney Williams, served on the bank board until early last year and held at least $500,000 in investments in the bank in 2007, the most recent year for which public financial disclosure statements are available.A month before Congress enacted the bailout program, Waters helped set up a meeting between the chief executive of the bank, representatives of other financial institutions and Treasury officials."When a member of the financial services committee calls, you pay special attention," said Jeb Mason, who was a high-ranking Treasury official last fall.

He said that the September meeting was billed as a broad discussion by minority-owned banks of the problems they faced but that it ended up a discussion of one bank's problems. He said he only recently learned of Waters' husband's ties to OneUnited and would have liked to have known about them. He added, however, that the connection didn't influence the department.OneUnited did not receive any federal money at that time, but by mid-December, it had received $12 million in bailout funds.Waters did not respond to requests for comment.

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said in an interview Thursday that he advised Waters last fall to "stay out of it" because he knew her husband had served on the bank board.Frank said Waters was concerned about the plight of minority-owned banks, as was he."She acknowledged that 'Sidney had been on the board. I could have a conflict here,' " Frank said. "I said, 'Fine, just stay out of it, I'll deal with it.' "Noting that OneUnited is based in Boston, he said, "I wasn't, as chairman of the banking committee, not going to do all I could to keep the only black-owned bank in my area alive."Frank said he was unaware of any contacts Waters may have had with Treasury.

Obama's Indian-American info czar goes on leave amid FBI probe

More bad news on the Obama appointee front. Obama's Indian-American info czar goes on leave amid FBI probe It's not looking good for Vivek Kundra as reported by the Boston Globe, An aide to President Obama is on leave from his new job after the FBI raided his old District of Columbia government office yesterday, arresting a city employee and a technology consultant on corruption charges, a White House official said. The Feds have said the Obama appointee is not a target.



AAPP: Get this, what happened to a clean government ? These folks have been charged with bribery for rigging contract bids.

The charges were lodged against the two men at a federal court hearing as the FBI finished searching the city's technology office, which was led until recently by Obama's new computer chief, Vivek Kundra.

Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs would not say whether the White House knew the investigation was underway when it named Kundra last week but called the case "a serious matter."

Yusuf Acar, the acting chief security officer in the city's technology office, was ordered held without bond pending a hearing Tuesday. Prosecutors said $70,000 was found during a search of Acar's Washington home and that he posed a serious flight risk. Acar worked under Kundra, but a spokeswoman for Mayor Adrian Fenty of Washington said she was "very confident" Kundra is not a target of the investigation.

Why are Economist Hating on Obama and Timothy Geithner?

I think I know why. Because U.S. household wealth has fallen $11.2 trillion in 2008, while the current stimulus plan might not create the real jobs intended.

Then get this, here the Crooks and Liars come,with a second stimulus package. Even as President Obama, and his buddy Timothy Geithner get low grades from economists. You see Barack Obama and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner have already received failing grades for their efforts to revive the economy from participants in the latest Wall Street Journal forecasting survey.

The economists' assessment stands in stark contrast with Mr. Obama's popularity with the public, with a recent Wall Street Journal/NBC poll giving him a 60% approval rating. A majority of the 49 economists polled said they were dissatisfied with the administration's economic policies. On average, they gave the president a grade of 59 out of 100, and although there was a broad range of marks, 42% of respondents rated Mr. Obama below 60. Mr. Geithner received an average grade of 51. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke scored better, with an average 71.

Unfortunately news like the US Household net worth had a record decline in fourth quarter is not helping the Obama administration. Yet, we must all remember this is the garbage Republicans placed on our door step. I guess it's all an economic blame game.
