NAACP President Ben Jealous Your Wrong. Shirley Sherrod Is Right!
The National President of the NAACP is disgrace and a sell-out and should consider resigning as President of the national NAACP. He is part of the new crew of colored people advancing their own agenda, not a black empowerment or capacity building agenda. One blogger, Gina at What About Our Daughters is on point when she says:
"I thought Jealous was a young idealistic fool, but instead he's turned out to be a cynical mealy mouth coward of the highest order... and jelly-spined did I mention jelly-spined?"
Ouch Gina! But your right, Ben Jealous is full of it. He is a fake. Check out his bogus remarks:
I also agree with Gina at the blog What About Our Daughters who writes:
"The NAACP is really the NAAMCP (National Association of Male Colored People). Tell me how the NAACP's male President starts some MESS with tea partiers and a Black woman ends up being the one to lose her job? Not only do they only appear to mobilize solely for the benefit of humans with penises, they have a proclivity for throwing Black women UNDER the bus and then shanking them in the back."
AAPP says: President Barack Obama should also consider requesting the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and (others involved) to resign as well.
Why? Because of what they have done to Shirley Sherrod, the USDA's director of rural development for Georgia, who was pressured to resign Monday when a video surfaced in which she told an NAACP audience that she had not given a white farmer "the full force of what I could do" to help him save the family farm in 1986, when she worked for a Georgia nonprofit group.
As reported by the Washington Post, LA Times, CNN, and many other news oulets, progressive bloggers (and of course the dishonest redneck bloggers who the NAACP and Barack Obama seem to follow). Yes, Shirley Sherrod was smeared by the NAACP, The Obama administration, and of course the right-wing media that distorted the truth and tried to destroy a black woman through character assassination. Get this, The National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People initially condemned her remarks, which were publicized by a conservative blogger and picked up by of all folks the bigots at Fox News and that other conservative blog.
Watch the full video of Shirley Sherrod below. She is a powerful woman who the NAACP initially attempted to destroy!
There is more, get this, as reported by the LA Times, on Tuesday, when the video of her full speech was released, the NAACP retracted its condemnation and called on the USDA to rehire her, saying it had been "snookered" by Fox and conservative website publisher Andrew Breitbart. And the farm couple involved in the incident stepped forward to defend Sherrod, calling her a friend and saying that she saved their farm.
I'm glad to hear that their are a number of coalitions supporting Ms. Shirley Sherrod, at least they are showing more character than the "NAACP President Ben Jealous" which had originally condemned Sherrod's comments, and worked to destroy her. Now the NAACP is involved in the Cover Your Ass (CYA) strategy of blaming the white media for their own rush to judgement. Speaking of rush to judgemement, it looks like the President's handlers did just that. As reported in Politico:
In a closed staff meeting Tuesday morning, a senior administration praised elements of the White House's initial response to a partial video of a speech by a Department of Agriculture official -- a response that the Administration has since reversed. White House officials yesterday afternoon told reporters they did not press Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to demand the resignation of Shirley Sherrod, but that they stood by the hasty decision; last night, they took credit for pressing Vilsack to rehire her when a fuller video revealed that her remarks had been edited to mean the opposite of what she said. But three Democratic sources said Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina singled out the White House's initial response to the incident for praise in the regular 8:30 a.m. staff meeting Tuesday morning. The sources differed on the substance of Messina's praise, but concurred that he had praised the speed of White House communications in response to the flap, which was driven by a misleadingly-edited video posted to Andrew Breitbart's Big Government website. One source, who is unhappy with the administration's handling of the incident, paraphrased Messina's remarks: "We could have waited all day – we could have had a media circus – but we took decisive action and it’s a good example of how to respond in this atmosphere."
Now the fake ass national office of the NAACP is acting like they were used by Fox News and Andrew Breitbart, claiming they had "snookered" the NAACP and the media.
Whatever, NAACP! Campbell Brown is right.
As I said earlier, The National President of the NAACP is a disgrace and should consider resigning as President of the NAACP. President Barack Obama should also consider requesting the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture to resign as well. Infact, the President should be asking any of his handlers who screwed this up to resign as well.
It's interresting that the NAACP would attack this strong black woman, without checking the facts. In a rush to judgement, yet, The NAACP and Barack Obama just recently supported the head of the former West Virginia head of KKK, who served in the United States Senate for the great work they said he did for America - Whatever!
There are some black bloggers who are willing to give the NAACP a pass. Not me!
You see the NAACP has been getting passes, for the past 30 years. This is the same NAACP who accused Wells Fargo and HSBC of forcing blacks into subprime mortgages while whites with identical qualifications got lower rates. This is the same NAACP that filed lawsuits against Wells Fargo and then dropped the law suit against them in order to gain sponsorship for their national convention. The NAACP has no credidabilty in the black community, other than putting on somewhat wacked image awards.
Thank you Faye Anderson, of Anderson at Large and the great folks at Booker Rising for following this issue.
UPDATE: The NAACP is asking the Obama administration to rehire Ms. Sherrod. This is one of the many reasons why the NAACP President should resign. First they attempt to destroy a black woman's career, then they say, oops.. the white Fox News Network made us do it.... what a disgrace...
I have been pointing out the disgrace of the NAACP for sometime.
I agree with Ms. Sherrod when she said, "I've done more to advance the causes of civil rights in this area than some of them who are sitting in those positions now with the NAACP."
She is right about the national office of the NAACP, "They need to learn something about need to know about her. They need to know what she contributed through the years."
Ben Jealous at the NAACP, White House Aides, nor USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack have walked in her shoes, and have not even begun to pay their dues...
Join me tonight on my blogtalkradio program, as we discuss the issue of Shirley Sherrod, color, racism, color aroused hatred Barack Obama and the NAACP.

National NAACP Trying, But Still Out of Touch...
I just got an email from the national office of the NAACP, suggesting that they have always been a leader in the fight for justice and equality. Hmmm.. OK back to the point, Ben Jealous, the 37 year old CEO and President of the NAACP who is a Rhodes Scholar born to a white father and black mother, wrote that the NAACP is creating a new frontline for protecting civil and human rights. They announced their new and improved NAACP website --
Check out the site: http://www.naacp.org
But a new website won't solve the NAACP's problems or black America's problems.
The NAACP's fear of a loss of momentum since the 2008 election should be a time for them to look themselves in the mirror and ask themselves, why they refused to hold the President of the United States, his labor department, education department, housing department, and justice department accountable?
Instead of the NAACP working to renergize blacks to fight back against a tea party movement agenda. The NAACP and negro groups should creating it's own "agenda" and also demand a Federal jobs program like the old Comprehensive Employment and Training Program (CETA) to address the high unemployment in black neighborhoods.
But, that would be so much like right. That would make them in touch with black America and the need for job and economic development advocacy...

2010 Blacks Still Give Blind Faith Support to Obama
I just finshed reading an article in The Washington Post by Nia-Malika Henderson and Perry Bacon Jr.on black folks and Barack Obama. They raise serious questions on why Barack Obama continues to get overwhelming support from blacks even though we are among those who have lost the most since he was elected.
I finally watched Capitalism: A Love Story by Micheal Moore. It's a great movie that should be watched by every African (black) American. The movie has been out for some time on video.
Michael Moore highlights a confidential report that Citigroup initially circulated only to it's wealthiest customers. Those reports, since leaked, plainly discuss the power of the Plutonomy in America, and how it would only strengthen, as long as the "the rest us" (the non-plutonics) could be kept in the dark about the Plutonomy existence, its role, and its over-arching control in the American Economy. Even though the Plutonomy (the top 1%) control over 50% of the net worth in America -- they don't control the Votes!
The thing they most fear is the principle of "one person -- one vote".
I again urge African Americans to read the leaked 2005 internal Citigroup “Plutonomy” memo, which describes how the richest 1% of the population has replaced the democracies of the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia; with a form of government they have coined “Plutonomy.” This made up term means plutocracy, where only the wealthiest few rule and everyone else are essentially irrelevant slaves.
Then we should ask a tough question, why are Blacks still giving blind faith support to President Obama and his administration, when we have lost the most since he was elected?

Nephew of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas Tasered - While Black?
Talk about High Tech Lynching...
A New Orleans TV station, USA Today, The Washington Post, Democratic Underground, Tasered Nation along with alternative news outlets are reporting that hospital security beat down Clarence Thomas' Suicidal, Epileptic Nephew. Ouch!
The nephew, Derek Thomas, is epileptic and suffered a seizure after being stunned, his family told ABC-affiliate WGNO.
He was taken to West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero after a possible suicide attempt yesterday. His family said that after he refused to put on a gown, guards punched him in the lip, grabbed his hair and shocked him.
The family said doctors knew Thomas is epileptic but directed that he be stunned to restrain him. No comment from the hospital so far.
The station says Justice Thomas is expected to travel to New Orleans "as soon as possible."
OMG, maybe the tasering of Americans will get some attention now that nephew of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has been tortured with a taser.
Bloggers such as, Pam's House Blend, The Afrospear, The Police Brutality Blog, Tasered While Black, Hullabaloo, Tasered Nation, Electronic Village,Wonkette, Black Women in Europe™ Blog, THE INTERSECTION | MADNESS & REALITY,Jack and Jill Politics, Electrocuted While Black, and a number of other bloggers have been paying close attention to the issue of Taser Torture. It's too bad Clarence Thomas was not concerned , until now...
Justice Denied For Oscar Grant
Tell me it's not true! Tell me that a white former transit officer was not just convicted of involuntary manslaughter yesterday in the videotaped shooting death of an unarmed black man on an Oakland train platform. Tell me it's not true. Will black men ever get full justice in America?
Yes prosecutors wanted Johannes Mehserle convicted of murdering 22-year-old Oscar Grant, who was shot once in the back as he lay face-down. Now we learn that the jury's conviction on the lesser charge as spark a repeat of rioting that followed the shooting on New Year's Day in 2009.
The Washington Post reports the incident is among the most racially polarizing cases in California since four Los Angeles officers were acquitted in 1992 in the beating of Rodney King.
No justice no peace?

Clinton/Obama Defend Robert Bird/KKK Ties
Why is it that Bill Clinton and President Barack Obama are getting a pass for and giving a pass to the late Senator birds recruitment history with the KKK?
Yes, I'm raising the question on my BlogTalkRadio program tonight. Check out how Bill Clinton excuses his so-called "fleeting association"with the Ku Klux Klan."
AAPP: Now I wonder if Bill Clinton would say that if it were a "fleeting association"with the Nazi's? A bet you the Jewish community would be pissed if he said that about a U.S. Senator that recruited for the Nazi's.
I consider the Senator from West Virginia, akin to a soldier in the SS. Blacks and other Americans should have treated him like Adolf Storms, who had been high on the list of suspected Nazi criminals.
Instead of helping elect him to high office, American prosecutors should have investigated and prepared to bring him to trial for the violation of constitutional rights of blacks in West Virginia. The Federal government should have built a strong and significant case against him, not only for the hangings, executions and murders of black folks by the KKK in West Virginia when bird served as a recruiter for the KKK.
There is no"fleeting association"with the Ku Klux Klan as Bill Clinton is trying to make it out to be. Why is there such a double standard?
AAPP says, So, He once had a fleeting association with the Ku Klux Klan... No Mr. bigoted former President of the United States, Bill Clinton. He (Bird) didnot have a fleeting association with the Ku Klux Klan, he was a recruiter for this hateful, violent group. Get your history straight! The facts are Byrd joined the KKK in 1942 and was elected leader of his local chapter. Byrd later claimed to have become "disinterested" after about a year. Byrd vigorously opposed the integration of the military, and wrote in 1946 that the KKK was "needed today as never before."
There's more... Check out the video on what President Obama says about the KKK Past of Byrd. Damn, the first black President excusing a KKK recruiter, who may have been responsible for many deaths and hangings of innocent black women, children and men in West Virginia? I guess America loves making excuses for former Klan members now.
Let's talk about these and other political issues tonight on the slugfest, "If you can handle the truth."
I guess Obama and others will name buildings, bridges and other Washington monuments for the former KKK recruiter. It won't be the first time... I was hoping it would be the last.

Clarence Thomas Urges Blacks To Bear Arms
Am I reading this right? Did Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas just tell black folks that we need to arm ourselves against the tyranny of white Militias?
But I'm not the only one that picked this one up, Courtland Milloy over at The Washington Post picked up on it too.
In-fact Courtland Milloy has a great piece in The Washington Post covering how Clarence Thomas's gun rights opinion, color/race played a major role in developing his opinion.
But I'm not the only one that picked this one up, Courtland Milloy over at The Washington Post picked up on it too.
In-fact Courtland Milloy has a great piece in The Washington Post covering how Clarence Thomas's gun rights opinion, color/race played a major role in developing his opinion.
Courtland writes; He hardly ever speaks during oral arguments, often appearing asleep on the bench.
But in his written opinion Monday supporting the right to bear arms, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas roared to life.
Referring to the disarming of blacks during the post-Reconstruction era, Thomas wrote: "It was the 'duty' of white citizen 'patrols to search negro houses and other suspected places for firearms.' If they found any firearms, the patrols were to take the offending slave or free black 'to the nearest justice of the peace' whereupon he would be 'severely punished.' " Never again, Thomas says.
In a scorcher of an opinion that reads like a mix of black history lesson and Black Panther Party manifesto, he goes on to say, "Militias such as the Ku Klux Klan, the Knights of the White Camellia, the White Brotherhood, the Pale Faces and the '76 Association spread terror among blacks. . . . The use of firearms for self-defense was often the only way black citizens could protect themselves from mob violence."
This was no muttering from an Uncle Tom, as many black people have accused him of being. His advocacy for black self-defense is straight from the heart of Malcolm X. He even cites the slave revolts led by Denmark Vesey and Nat Turner -- implying that white America has long wanted to take guns away from black people out of fear that they would seek revenge for centuries of racial oppression.
Of course, Thomas's references to historic threats posed by white militias might have been dismissed if not for a resurgence of such groups in the year after Barack Obama's election as the nation's first black president.
And if their behavior turns as violent as their racist rhetoric often threatens, then Thomas will almost certainly go down in history as the nation's foremost black radical legal scholar. Read More HERE
AAPP: I cannot believe this but for the first time, I agree with Clarence Thomas.
Courtland Milloy is right as well, Clarence Thomas's advocacy for black self-defense is straight from the heart of Malcolm X.
Maybe the national office of the NAACP and other "negro" groups should revisit their own lack of advocacy for black self-defense against these growing so-called Militia groups.

Sen. Robert Byrd, KKK, and Hate
![]() |
| "My obituary will say I was a member of the Ku Klux Klan.” |
As the Daily Caller notes, in passing, Sen. Byrd will also be remembered for having joined the Klu Klux Klan as a “young man.” The Right Wing Moon Bats Love It. Look out, the White Sheets of the KKK, will be Flown at Half-Staff Today.
There is more, as reported by Jeff Crouere with the Bayou Buzz.com, before his Senate career, Byrd was a recruiter for the KKK. Three years after he supposedly left the organization, he was still writing letters on behalf of the organization. In 1946, Byrd wrote the Imperial Wizard of the KKK, “The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia” and “in every state in the Union.”
After his election to the U.S. Senate, Byrd worked against the landmark 1964 civil rights legislation and even filibustered against the bill. He voted against the Supreme Court nominations of Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas, two African American nominees, and opposed the desegregation of the armed forces.
As the Daily Caller.com notes, a quick check of this morning’s obituaries reveal that in the eyes of the traditional media, Byrd the Progressive Porker is much more important than Bob the Exalted Cyclops. Byrd joined the Klan at the ripe young age of 24 — hardly a young’un by today’s standards, much less those of 1944, when Byrd refused to join the military because he might have to serve alongside “race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds,” according to a letter Byrd wrote to Sen. Theodore Bilbo at the height of World War II .
Today’s obituaries, however, made little mention of Byrd’s once-deeply held hatred for African Americans. Check out the Daily Caller for a collection of obituary snow jobs on Bob the Exalted Cyclops. Read more: Daily Caller.com
AAPP asks: Should he (Byrd) get a pass for his klan history? How many black folks was Byrd responsible for killing in West Virginia when he served as Exalted Cyclops? Are Americans suppose to forget that lynching of Black people in the Southern and border states became an institutionalized method used by whites to terrorize Blacks and maintain white supremacy? Should black politicians forget? Should the media forget? Should the families of those lynched by the KKK forget? Should America forget? What do you think?
Was he the great emancipator as so many want to make him out to be? Or was he the “white nigger,” an early 20th-century anachronism that Byrd employed not once, but twice during an interview with Tony Snow.
Before you answer those question read this:
Robert Byrd on his biggest mistake (1993):
“Well, it’s easy to state what has been my biggest mistake. The greatest mistake I ever made was joining the Klu Klux Klan. And I’ve said that many times. But one cannot erase what he has done. He can only change his ways and his thoughts. That was an albatross around my neck that I will always wear. You will read it in my obituary that I was a member of the Klu Klux Klan.”
So... What do you think now? Should we forget, or should Robert Byrd's obituary read that he was not only a member, but a leader in the Ku Klux Klan, an organization that not only lynched, hanged and shot black men, women and children but also - burned black men women and children at the stake, maiming, dismembering, castrating and using other brutal methods of physical torture and sadism.
