Megan Williams, Family, and supporters march for justice!

Metro News: The Voice of West Virginia

Megan William Smiles and glows as Malik Shabazz, left, founder of the Black Lawyers for Justice and hundreds of marchers do what other black leaders failed to do - Support HER. It's important to note that the rally was non-violent in keeping with the great tradition of Martin Luther King's Civil Rights marches.

My Photo

Well. it looks like black leaders have left Megan Williams hanging. What happened to the NAACP, Urban League, National Association of Negro Women, Civil Rights RoundTable, SNCC, CORE, Congressional Black Caucus, and all those other national black groups that love to get on BET with Image Awards, or write reports on the condition of black America? How about those black preachers with the mega churches and mega money? Damn, oops Megan Williams does not deserve support right? she and her family are from the back woods of West Virginia, they don't count right? It's not high profile enough right? She is a petty thief she writes bad checks so she deserved to be raped right? She brought it all on herself right?

Now the script continues to be written. The story is being told. Some wanted Megan Williams just to be quiet and go into a shell, go into depression or just go away. Don't come out and say anything. But she and her family said no. We will come to the rally, We will not fall into a shell, and we will hear the voices of support.

Here is what the media outlets are saying, through Associated Press:

Malik Shabazz, left, founder of the Black Lawyers for Justice, Megan Williams, center, and her mother, Carmen Williams, right, attend a rally at the Capitol prior to a march Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 in Charleston, W.Va. Hundreds of people gathered urging prosecutors to add hate crime charges against six white people charged in the beating, torture and sexual assault of 20-year-old Megan (AP Photo/Jeff Gentner).

West Virginia (CHARLESTON)

AP - Hundreds of people marched through the state capital on Saturday to urge prosecutors to add hate crime charges against six white people charged in the beating, torture and sexual assault of a 20-year-old black woman. Authorities say the accused, three men and three women, held Megan Williams captive for days at a rural trailer — sexually assaulting her, beating her and forcing her to eat human and animal feces.

Police stopped traffic in downtown Charleston along the 2-mile route, as demonstrators held signs calling for the suspects to be charged with hate crimes.

"Hate crimes are out of control in America," Malik Shabazz, a legal adviser to Williams and her family and a founder of Black Lawyers for Justice, told the group at a rally before the march. "Nooses are being hung and our women are being raped by white mobs. What happened to Megan Williams was a hate crime and we want this prosecuted as a hate crime."

Shabazz pointed to statements from suspect Frankie Brewster and her son, Bobby Brewster, that racial epithets were used every time Williams was stabbed.

Shabazz staged the rally despite a request by the city's black ministerial association and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People not to gather because it could harm the prosecution's case.

Logan County Prosecutor Brian Abraham has not filed hate crime charges in the case saying the other charges already filed carried harsher penalties. A hate crime conviction carries up to 10 years in prison in West Virginia. All six face kidnapping and sexual assault charges. Kidnapping carries a possible life sentence.

Abraham, who urged Williams and her family not to talk about the case or attend the rally, has said it might be difficult to prove a hate crime charge because Williams had a "social relationship" with one of the suspects for at least several months before the alleged assaults.

Williams attended the rally wearing a T-shirt with the message "Protect the Black Woman." In a brief speech, she showed her appreciation to her supporters.

The Associated Press generally does not identify suspected victims of sexual assault, but Williams and her mother agreed to release her name.

Joe Marchal said he drove three hours from Berea, Ky., with his wife and infant son to show his support for Williams.

"If no one came out today, imagine how that would make Megan Williams feel," said Marchal. "We're here for her."

In addition to calling attention to hate crimes, organizers hoped the rally would help raise money for Williams' medical care and future educational expenses.

Zayid Muhammad, the national minister of culture for the New Black Panther Party, came to the rally from Newark, N.J.

"As a father of a daughter and a child of African ancestry, the idea that I can sit by idly, (in) the face of one of the most violent and obscene acts committed against a black woman in my life, was too appalling," Muhammad said. "I had to come."

The Rev. Al Sharpton had been expected to participate but did not appear.

My Photo

This rally of support for Megan Williams and family, organized by Malik Shabazz, a legal adviser to Williams and her family and a founder of Black Lawyers for Justice, did not reach the level of support of the Jena 6 rally. I have my own thoughts on the reason why. I wonder if you have any ideas on why it did not reach the level of support of the Jena 6 demonstration? Why did Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton not show? Why did the NAACP really refuse to support the demonstration? Is this the same old split between the old guard negro organization and the new guard black nationalist? Is history repeating itself in the black communities, as it is in the U.S. with Iraq like the Vietnam war?

It's too bad the NAACP has been more concerned about burying the N Word than it has been about a modern day attempt of lynching a young black girl.

Bounty Hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman, Don Imus and Nigger Jokes

Questions

" I wonder how the Bounty hunter would like it if he were called "Bounty Hunter and white Nigger Duane "Dog" Chapman ? I Wonder how Don Imus would like it if he were called Don "white Nigger" Imus? "

- AAPP

Why is there so much hatred in America? Why are so many whites in America, so comfortable with calling black women niggers? For that matter, why are whites so comfortable calling any black person a nigger? Why are blacks allowing it? Maybe this is what happens when black women date white guys? Or am I being to general?

Why have we been so tricked into calling ourselves niggers? Are you tired of the word? Did the NAACP bury the word Nigger, yet they are willing to allow a black woman to be treated like a nigger? Raped like a nigger? How much can a group of Americans take? How much can a group of Americans allow, time after time, after time?

This moron (below) is not the first one to call a black women nigger and won't be the last. Come on let's get real. The question is, whether there is anything black folks, as a collective group of people in the country can do about it?

If so, what? If so, when? if so, how? If so, why? If so when?

Or is this going to be happening for the
foreseeable future?

Anyone got any answers?

Dog Man

There is more.

The reality TV show starring celebrity bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman was pulled from the air indefinitely on Friday, two days after a private phone conversation in which he used a racial slur was posted online.

Cable channel A&E suspended production of the fifth series of Chapman's popular show, "Dog the Bounty Hunter," as the phone call was made public on Wednesday, but on Friday the network went a step further.

"In evaluating the circumstances of the last few days, A&E has decided to take 'Dog The Bounty Hunter' off the network's schedule for the foreseeable future," an A&E spokesman said.

AAPP: Check out the key words, "foreseeable future." Will after all the hype goes, will he be back on the air like you know who? Don Imus. You know, the man who was on 60 Minutes in 1998, yes, Don Imus told Mike Wallace that his show had someone specifically assigned to do "nigger jokes."

Come on lets get real, we know that in 2000, Newsday's Philip Noble monitored the Imus show for months, then cited numerous examples of his racist, homophobic and misogynist references. In 2001, Imus promised syndicated columnist Clarence Page that he wouldn't make racist comments about black athletes any more.

But in April 2007, on the morning after the mostly black Rutgers University women's basketball team had reached the finals of the NCAA women's basketball championship, Imus offhandedly remarked, "That's some nappy-headed hos." Calls for his removal from the airwaves were invoked by public figures ranging from Barack (not black enough) Obama to Al (too black) Sharpton, from feminist Eleanor (not woman enough) Smeal to Jesse ("Let's go to Hymie-town") Jackson. Although Imus proceeded to apologize all over the media, ranging from Sharpton's radio program to the Today show, he felt that he was only following the lyrics of black rappers, from the Wu Tang Clan ("nappy-headed niggaz") to Ludacris (boasting of random "hos in different area codes").

Foreseeable future? Is that not another code word?

I just finished reading a post regarding Don Imus by Paul Krassner, titled He's Back!

Don Imus Meets Michael Richards
Hat Tip:
Paul Krassner and counterpunch.org

In the post Krassner talks about the early 1960s, when Dick Gregory called his autobiography Nigger, because, he explained, "I told my mama if she hears anybody shout 'nigger,' they're just advertising my book." Richard Pryor called one of his albums That Crazy Nigger, and wrote an article for The Realist about the disproportionate number of blacks fighting and dying in Vietnam, titled "Uncle Sam Wants You, Nigger!" After a visit to Africa, he reclaimed his heritage, promising not to use that word again.

Krassner also talks about Lenny Bruce, on stage one night, riding an invisible unicycle as he balanced his way along a tightrope into uncharted comedic territory:

"The reason I don't get hung up with, well, say, integration, is that by the time Bob Newhart is integrated, I'm bigoted. And anyway, Martin Luther King, Bayard Rustin are geniuses, the battle's won. By the way, are there any niggers here tonight? [Outraged whisper, as if an audience member] 'What did he say? Are there any niggers here tonight? Jesus Christ! Is that cruel. Does he have to get that low for laughs? Wow! Have I ever talked about the schwarzes when the schwarzes had gone home? Or spoken about the Moulonjohns when they'd left? Or placated some Southerner by absence of voice when he ranted and raved about nigger nigger nigger?'

"[In his own voice]: Are there any niggers here tonight? I know that one nigger who works here, I see him back there. Oh, there's two niggers, customers, and, ah, aha! Between those two niggers sits one kike--man, thank God for the kike! Uh, two kikes. That's two kikes, and three niggers, and one spic. One spic--two, three spics. One mick. One mick, one spic, one hick, thick, funky, spunky boogey. And there's another kike. Three kikes. Three kikes, one guinea, one greaseball. Three greaseballs, two guineas. Two guineas, one hunky funky lace-curtain Irish mick. That mick spic hunky funky boogey. Two guineas plus three greaseballs and four boogies makes usually three spics. Minus two Yid spic Polack funky spunky Polacks. [Auctioneer's voice] 'Five more niggers! Five more niggers!' [Gambler's voice] 'I pass with six niggers and eight micks and four spics.'

"[In his own voice] The point? That the word's suppression gives it the power, the violence, the viciousness. If President Kennedy got on television and said, 'Tonight I'd like to introduce the niggers in my cabinet,' and he yelled 'nigger-nigger-nigger-nigger-nigger-nigger-nigger' at every nigger he saw, 'boogey-boogey-boogey-boogey-boogey-nigger-nigger-nigger-nigger' till nigger didn't mean anything any more, till nigger lost its meaning, you'd never make any 4-year-old nigger when he came home from school. Screw 'Negro!' Oh, it's so good to say, 'Nigger!' Boy! 'Hello, Mr. Nigger, how're you?'"

Krassner also talks about how four decades later, Dave Chappelle on his TV show played a man delivering milk to the all-white family, the Niggars, and he did indeed say, "Hello, Mr. Niggar, how're you?"

But consider the contrast between Lenny's good-natured, poetic routine and Michael Richards' mean-spirited, uncontrollable outburst. In November 2006, at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, in response to heckling from a table of four African Americans (three men and a woman), he suddenly became enraged with repressed hatred:

"Shut up! Fifty years ago we'd hang you upside down with a fucking fork up your ass! [Laughter in the audience, apparently unaware of the heckler's race and that the reference is to lynching] You can talk, you can talk, you can talk, now you're brave, motherfucker! Throw his ass out! He's a nigger! He's a nigger! He's a nigger!"

"[A woman in the audience] "Oh my god!"

"A nigger! Look, there's a nigger! [Imitating reactions in the audience] 'Oooh! Oooh!' All right, you see, this shocks you, it shocks you to see what lies beneath your stupid motherfuckers!"

[A man at the heckler table] "That wasn't called for."

"What was uncalled for? It's uncalled for you to interrupt my ass, you cheap motherfucker! You guys have been talking and talking and talking."

[Voice from the audience] "Calm down."

"What's the matter with you? Is this too much for you to handle?"

"I said calm down."

"They're gonna arrest me for calling a black man a nigger? Wait a minute, where's he going?"

"That was uncalled for, you fucking cracker-ass motherfucker!"

"You calling me cracker-ass, nigger?

"Fucking white boy!"

"Are you threatening me?"

"We'll see what's up."

"Oh, it's a big threat. That's how you get back at the man."

"You're just not funny. That's why you're a reject. Never had no shows, never had no movies. Seinfeld, that's it."

"Oh, I guess you got me there. You're absolutely right. I'm just a wash-up. Gotta stand on this stage."

"That's it, we've had it. Niggers--that's un-fucking-called-for. That ain't necessary."

"Well, you interrupted me, pal. That's what you get when you interrupt the white man, don't you know."

"Uncalled for, that was uncalled for."

"You see, there's still those words, those words, those words."

Richards then walked off stage.

Later, seemingly stunned at his own racist rage, he apologized on the media again and again as best he could.

African-American comedians reacted to Richards' use of the n-word. Read More HERE

AAPP: Are you tired of the word nigger? Or is Bounty Hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman, and Don Imus, just two white "Niggers" that are off the air only for the foreseeable future?

History of the AfroSpear

The genesis of the AfroSpear/AfroSphere movement can be attributed to many Black bloggers, Black blogs and websites within the African Diaspora. Bloggers like AfroNetizen, African American Political Pundit, Jack and Jill Politics, Black Commentator, Booker Rising, Prometheus 6, Mirror on America and Francis Holland had for many months expressed the need for inclusion of black bloggers into the majority blogosphere discussion on all issues impacting Americans. They contended that white bloggers, particularly the "big [white] boys of blogging" refused to link to Black blogs on their blogs lists as well as within articles, and generally pretended that Black bloggers did not exist.

In spite of the demands by Blacks for inclusion in the white blogosphere, in 2006 white bloggers met in the middle of the an historic black community of Harlem, N.Y. with former President Bill Clinton, to discuss politics but did not include the participation of a single Black blogger. Many black bloggers considered this an insult to black bloggers and to black communities.

The resulting photograph of an all-white group of bloggers in Harlem with Bill Clinton infuriated Black bloggers, who represent a critical base of the Democratic Party. From the conservative La Shawn Barber , the moderate The Republic of T and the liberal Steve Gillard and The Culture Kitchen created early discussions for a chain of Black change in the blogosphere.

In 1996, Black Internet social and political activist Francis L. Holland, Esq. began criticizing the lack of diversity at DailyKos, but he was banned from participation there. He subsequently published a groundbreaking study at MyDD, on Feb 15, 2007, that included a startling graphic which showed a square entitled "Blogosphere" divided in half, into two segregated triangles, the "whitosphere" and the "Blackosphere," with an accompanying essay entitled "entitled Blackosphere & Whitosphere: Silence is Never Golden . This graphic acknowledgment of the de-facto segregation of the blogosphere provided an additional crucial catalyst for bloggers of African descent to coalesce to discuss issues of importance to the African diaspora in a collective manner.

A subsequent article entitled "White-News" vs. the Blackosphere became to topic of conversation in the black blogger community, and the term "whitosphere" made popular by Francis L. Holland became essential to Blacks and whites conceptual understanding, continuing to be used even today.

Bloggers like The Field Negro , Jack and Jill Politics, African American Political Pundit, Asabagna, Aulelia, P6, Skeptical Brotha, Republic of T, BygBaby, Culture Kitchen, Angie, The Free Slave, and many other bloggers continued the discussions at the Republic of T's blog after his blog post " The Republic of T. Blogging While Brown, Part III" on March 30, 2007 with Black bloggers, Rikyrah, ecthompson, Electronic Viillage, Mark Bey, Dr. Lester Spence, Bronze Trinity and many other bloggers contributing to the discussion. Through further discussions on other black blogger platforms such as The Free Slave the AfroSpear name was agreed upon.

NAACP is a disgrace!

Why is the NAACP such punks. They act like they a scared of black folks organizing. Is that not what the NAACP is suppose to be all about, organizing our people? Standing against injustice? So the NAACP both locally and nationally would rather get into a pissing contest with a black lawyers group rather than dealing with Ms. Meagan Williams abuse and her right to justice.

What a punch of morons in leadership at the NAACP. They should all resign. he have no honor. The NAACP proves over and over again that it is a useless organization stuck in the 1950's.

Check out what the headlines are reading around the country and around the world.

NAACP Disavows West Virginia Hate Crime March

Yes from Charleston to South Africa the NAACP is showing the lack of unity in the black community. Check out what the reports are saying. Let us know what you think.

Source: Black America Web

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - (AP) The NAACP said Tuesday it does not support a hate crime awareness march that will raise money for a black woman who says she was tortured by six whites.

Local and national NAACP officials said they disapprove of Saturday's march organizers, a group based in Washington, D.C., called Black Lawyers for Justice that wants hate crime charges brought against the defendants.

Six whites are charged with raping and torturing 20-year-old Megan Williams for days until her Sept. 8 rescue. All could get life prison sentences if convicted, but the prosecutor has not filed hate crime charges, saying they could be difficult to prove.

Williams, her family and black leaders such as the Rev. Al Sharpton plan to participate in the march, which has been endorsed by groups including the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the National Conference of Black Mayors.

The Rev. Audie Murphy, NAACP branch president for Logan and Boone counties, said his group will continue supporting Williams, "but not within this march." More HERE

I can't stand those bastards at the White House. As Documented by media matters.org.
And as usual the Media outlets uncritically reported White House claim that it does not "employ" fake reporting

I guess he (Bush) needs to use fake reporting on FEMA, Iraq, and everything else his administration is doing in government because his White House and his administration are full of lies. Forget about FEMA for a minute (we will come back to that later) Take for another American disgrace under the Bush Administration, lets say:

TORTURE

Check out what the worst president in history had to say:

We are finding terrorists and bringing them to justice. We are gathering information about where the terrorists may be hiding. We are trying to disrupt their plots and plans. Anything we do ... to that end in this effort, any activity we conduct, is within the law. We do not torture." - President Bush (Nov. 7, 2005).

THE FACTS

Source: Bush Lies. net - The State Department's annual report on human rights practices worldwide has condemned countries such as Burma and North Korea for the disappearance and indefinite detention of political prisoners without trial; while also condemning Libya, Syria and other countries for engaging in acts of torture that include hooding, stripping detainees naked, sleep deprivation, subjecting detainees to extremes of heat, cold, noise and light, threatening them with dogs, submerging them in water to simulate drowning — which is known as water-boarding — and other acts of physical abuse all of which have occured at U.S. detention facilities. See State Dept. Study Cites Torture of Prisoners: Rumself Approved Similar Practices (Washington Post March 10, 2005).

Rumsfeld Approved Similar Practices

In addition, post-World War II Japanese war crimes tribunals found that both the Japanese soldiers engaging in water-boarding and the officers who approved it were guilty of war crimes.

Don't believe what you see and read.

Reports on CNN and in the Associated Press, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times uncritically quoted White House spokeswoman Dana Perino's response to a question about an October 23 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) press conference, in which, as Washington Post columnist Al Kamen reported, "the questions were asked by FEMA staffers playing reporters." Perino said of the conference, "It is not a practice that we would employ here at the White House and we certainly don't condone it." But as Media Matters for America has documented, the Bush administration has a history of generating "fake" news.

Several media reports uncritically included Perino's response to the press conference without noting past Bush administration scandals involving "fake" reporting:

  • An October 26 Associated Press article led by uncritically noting that "[t]he White House scolded" FEMA, adding that Perino "said it was not appropriate that the questions were posed by agency staffers instead of reporters."
  • An October 27 New York Times article stated that the conference "drew a rebuke from the White House and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff," adding that Perino said: "It's not something I would have condoned ... And they -- I'm sure -- will not do it again."
  • An October 27 Los Angeles Times article stated that "[t]he White House was not happy with FEMA's response," adding Perino's quote: "It is not a practice that we would employ here at the White House."
  • An October 27 Washington Post article uncritically included Perino's quote: "White House press secretary Dana Perino said yesterday that 'it is not a practice that we would employ here at the White House. We certainly don't condone it. We didn't know about it beforehand. . . . They, I'm sure, will not do it again.' "
  • In an October 29 Washington Post online discussion, staff writer and media critic Howard Kurtz wrote: "I don't think it's fair to blame the White House for this. Dana Perino made it quite clear that the White House did not approve of this make-believe event." Kurtz later noted Bush administration journalism scandals involving conservative columnist Armstrong Williams and "a couple of other commentators," but did not contrast these scandals with Perino's reported disapproval of the FEMA press conference.
  • On the October 29 edition of CNN's The Situation Room, correspondent Jeanne Meserve reported that "[t]he White House distanced itself" from the FEMA conference and then aired Perino's quote.

As Media Matters noted, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) found that the Bush administration's use of video news releases (VNRs) -- video reports that appeared to be created by journalists instead of the government and, as The New York Times reported, many of which "were subsequently broadcast on local stations across the country without any acknowledgement of the government's role in their production" -- was in violation of federal law. A May 12, 2005, statement by GAO Managing Associate General Counsel Susan A. Poling noted:

In the past year, GAO has issued two legal opinions on the production of video news releases (VNRs) that included prepackaged news stories by both the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP). In both of these instances, we concluded that the agencies violated the federal government-wide prohibition on the use of appropriated funds for purposes of publicity or propaganda not authorized by Congress.

Media Matters has documented numerous instances in which former White House press secretary Scott McClellan turned to former Talon News "Washington Bureau Chief" Jeff Gannon -- whose real name, James Guckert, was uncovered by bloggers in February 2005 -- for softball questions, particularly during heated press conferences. In early 2005, after Media Matters and others raised questions about his work, Gannon resigned from Talon News. One week later, the Talon News website -- operated by Republican activist Bobby Eberle -- was shut down and all articles deleted. Media Matters has documented several instances in which Gannon lifted text directly from Republican materials and sources.

The Bush administration has also paid journalists for support on specific issues:

  • As Media Matters noted, the Los Angeles Times reported on November 30, 2005, that "the U.S. military is secretly paying Iraqi newspapers to publish stories written by American troops in an effort to burnish the image of the U.S. mission in Iraq." The Times added that a multinational military task force had "purchased an Iraqi newspaper and taken control of a radio station, and was using them to channel pro-American messages to the Iraqi public."
  • Armstrong Williams' column was dropped by his syndicator, Tribune Media Services, following USA Today's report that the Bush administration paid him $240,000 to promote its No Child Left Behind education policy, as Media Matters noted.
  • As Media Matters noted, on January 26, 2005, Kurtz reported: "In 2002, syndicated columnist Maggie Gallagher repeatedly defended President Bush's push for a $300 million initiative encouraging marriage as a way of strengthening families. ... But Gallagher failed to mention that she had a $21,500 contract with the Department of Health and Human Services to help promote the president's proposal."
  • On September 8, 2006, The Miami Herald reported that "[a]t least 10 South Florida journalists, including three from El Nuevo Herald, received regular payments from the U.S. government for programs on Radio Martí and TV Martí, two broadcasters aimed at undermining the communist government of Fidel Castro. The payments totaled thousands of dollars over several years. ... Pablo Alfonso, who reports on Cuba and writes an opinion column, was paid almost $175,000 since 2001 ... and staff reporter Wilfredo Cancio Isla, who covers the Cuban exile community and politics, was paid almost $15,000 in the last five years."

Blogging For Justice

There is something about the rape cases involving Megan Williams and the Dunbar Village Rapes that hit me in the Gut. Something that has made a grown ass black man cry.

When I read the early news reports about Megan Williams I felt like I was in the Boston, in the early 70's, (telling my age) at South Boston High School when a group of a dozen whites surrounded my little VW car, throwing dozens of rocks and bricks, breaking my windows causing physical injuries as they then attempted to tip it over as they called me and my girl friend at the time nigger.

It is like it happened yesterday, It seemed like thousands of residents of a segregated South Boston community chanted as black kids came out of the school and into yellow school buses. Get this, protected by city of Boston Police, many who then lived in South Boston, as the police failed to clear the streets. The chants were loud and clear and the lilly white south Boston community came out in force pelting schools buses with rocks and bottles, as whites chanted, Nigger Go Home, Nigger Go Home, Nigger Go home, Nigger Go Home.

That day I almost lost my life. A hopeful young black man thinking that people of all races would come together to integrate the city of Boston public schools. I learned quickly about the levels of White Hatred towards blacks in a town I called home.

There is something about the rape cases involving Megan Williams and the Dunbar Village Rapes that hit me in the Gut.

What was the difference between a whole community of south Boston pelting those little black kids, and what happened in West Virginia?

My thought is a whole lot and nothing. The whole lot is, The young black woman from WV was caught defenseless in the woods raped and nearly murdered by a family of white folks, bent on hatred because a girl was easy prey and she was black.

In the Boston situation with the black kids was in many ways the same. They were collectively caught defenseless in the urban woods of South-Boston psychologically raped and nearly murdered by a family of white folks, bent on hatred because black kids were easy prey and they were black.

Many folks in South Boston during that time, would chant, "if we could only get our hands on one of the niggers." They did get their hands on one of those black folks. It was not in South Boston. It was not a high school student. It was a person who I know well, Ted Landsmark, they caught him, of all places, in front of City Hall. They attacked him with a flag (yes) an American flag.

The nothing is, everthing has cahnged, and nothing has cahnged in America. It Don't make a difference if you in South Boston, Massachusetts, South Boston, Virgina, the Deep South, South Bronx, and the Southern Part of California. Black Woman and their black children are under assault. and like in years past we cannot count on the Federal government to protects us.

There is something about the rape cases involving Megan Williams and the Dunbar Village Rapes that hit me in the Gut.

Recently, a man who I respect blogged about Megan Williams, he shared some early gut reactions about her that I was shocked to hear. The reason I was shocked to hear his thoughts, was because it hit home. I have daughter Megan Williams age. There is something about the rape cases involving Megan Williams and the Dunbar Village Rapes that hit me in the Gut.

As I said before, I grew in Boston, in probably one of the tougher public housing developments at the time, Orchard Park. When I read about the mother and son, I thought about my mother , who was a single mother head of household, and how it would feel when I was 14 to even think about having sex with my own mother. What!

Think about black men and Black women, some young punks come into your home, rape your mother, and force her to have sex with you.

Those sick bastards.

For the young men that did what they did, they need to be charged as adults. Convict them. Throw away the key. For those that would argue, they are too young, Its' societies fault and the rest of that bullshit. I say, tell that to the mother, tell that to the son who were raped by these rapist, and then told to have sex with each-other. Should these young rapist die at the hands of government, probably not. They will make fine women in prison. Let them feel how it is to be raped. Place them in a max security prison.

For those sick bastards in W.Virginia, all of them should go to prison for the rest of their natural low-damn life.

Supporting Black Women

Blogging For Justice TODAY Thursday November 1, 2007

Blogging For Justice

There is something about the rape cases involving Megan Williams and the Dunbar Village Rapes that hit me in the Gut. Something that has made a grown ass black man cry.

TorturevictimInHospitalYou know what I'm talking about the The Case of Ms. Megan Williams a black woman who was raped in West Virgina. Megan Williams thought she was going to a party. For more than a week, authorities say, the 20-year-old black woman was kept captive in a shed, tortured, beaten, forced to eat rat, dog and human feces, and raped by six white men and women who taunted her with racial slurs.

"They just kept saying 'This is what we do to niggers down here,'" Williams told The Associated Press in one of her most extensive interviews since the shocking case made national headlines last month.

The other case involves a victims, a mother, son and family at Dunbar Village, a public housing community in which Four males — ages 14, 15, 16 and 18 — have been charged as adults in a 14-count indictment that could send all of them to prison for life. Defense attorneys have argued that the victims failed to identify the same suspects from photo lineups and that they identified fillers — people not involved in the case — as perpetrators. In some instances they identified different people as the same person.

Hoping to steal money and jewelry, Avion Lawson, 14, said he and someone else wore masks when they entered the 35-year-old woman's apartment that night, according to the documents. Once inside, Lawson said, he and his accomplice, whose name is blacked out on the report, encountered the woman in bed with three other masked males around her. Lawson told police he sexually assaulted her and stole two video games and a truck.

The victim returned home from her job delivering phone books about 9 p.m. the night of the attack, according to her statement to police. While fixing her son something to eat, a young male with braids knocked on her door to tell her the tires on her truck were flat. Once outside, she said, she saw a male with a large gun and two others armed with guns. They wore black clothing over their faces, she said, and ordered her back into the apartment, where they demanded money.

After being told there was no money, the attackers tore off the woman's clothes and raped her until five others arrived, according to the documents. The new arrivals took turns having sex with her and then sodomized her. The mother was then ordered into a tub filled with vinegar and water where they used hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, nail polish remover and ammonia on her. At gunpoint, the assailants forced the mother and son to have sex.

Throughout the attack, the victims suffered beatings, including having a bowl and light bulbs smashed over their heads. The encounter was recorded on a cell phone camera, according to the mother.

Before leaving, the males looked for a lighter to set the two on fire but couldn't find one, she told police. They ordered the pair to stay in the tub and took off. About 30 minutes later one of the males returned to sexually assault the mother one last time. Before leaving, he scribbled a man's name and 6-CO, a gang, on a piece of paper and told the woman he hangs out on Sixth Street and that's where he could be found.

He grabbed a Sony PlayStation 2 before fleeing. More HERE

I'm going to write about it later today. Come back more about the victims, and read my gut feeling and gut reaction. But more than that I want to talk about how the Afrospear, black bloggers, West Virginians, Americans can help these young black women and thier families heal.

GOP Front Runners to Black Voters: We are the Grand Old "White" Party

AAPP says: Well the grand old party is doing it's racist thing again. A month or so ago, I wrote in the Huffington Post about how the GOP Won't Even Talk with Black Folks. Since that time nothing has changed. The Grand Old "White" Party is establishing itself as the New White Citizens Council of the 21st Century. Here is the scary thing, not many black people are surprised.

------

Hat Tip Huffingtonpost.com and Michael Roston who are reporting on the Republicans avoiding a second black voter forum, which has now been postponed.

Michael Roston says: In recent weeks, Republican presidential candidates have found time in their busy schedules to speak or debate before the Republican Jewish Coalition, "Value Voters," conservative Floridians, even Wyoming Republicans, who hold virtually no sway in the primary race. They've also agreed to appear at the CNN/YouTube debate they at one point shunned.

2007-10-30-debate.jpgBut it appears that some GOP frontrunners are once again letting an opportunity to appear before African-American voters lapse, just as they decided to sit out a black voter forum hosted last month by Tavis Smiley.

The Congressional Black Caucus Institute announced in September that it had scheduled a debate for November 4 on Fox News for Republican presidential candidates. But a spokeswoman for the group confirmed to the Huffington Post that it has now been postponed, with no new date set.

"The debate will not take place on November 4, and we're still considering the debate schedule," said CBC Institute spokesperson Georgella Muirhead.

Republican candidates have cited scheduling conflicts in resisting new proposed dates, Muirhead said.

"It's the same issue they had with some of the other debates," she added. "We're getting a new working date, that's what's being considered."

The CBC Political Education and Leadership Institute is a non-profit organization linked to the Congressional Black Caucus, which includes 43 African-American members of the House and Senate. Read more of Micheal Roston's report HERE

Hulu.com, which is still in private testing, will become a platform for distributing professionally produced content on the internet, including new and old television programs as well as some films - all free of charge.

The hope is that users will want to access the two companies' premium content - including 24 and The Simpsons from the Fox stable, and Heroes and The A-Team from NBC - and will be willing to watch adverts for the privilege of doing so.

Fox, which is owned by News Corporation, parent company of Times Online, and NBC, owned by General Electric, will distribute their content on the newly created site, as well on sites owned by five partners in the venture - Microsoft, AOL, MySpace and Comcast. More HERE

Protecting Black Women (and their families) From Rape

Protecting Black Women (and their families) From Rape

On Thursday November 1, 2007 Afrospear members and Afrospear supporters are urged to blog to raise public awareness of the two rape cases involving black women. One woman was tortured, beaten, forced to eat rat, dog and human feces, and raped by six white men and women in West Virgina. The Other a black woman gang raped and forced to have sex with her own son.

We are asking all bloggers who plan to blog on Thursday November 1, 2007 send a email to AfricanAmericanPoliticalPundit@gmail.com confirming your participation so we can track the number of blogs participating.

The Case of Ms. Megan Williams

A black woman who was raped in West Virgina. The purpose of this day is to make sure the public eye is on West Virginia and that she receives justice.

As you may know Megan Williams thought she was going to a party.

West Virginia does not have a death penalty, but the six suspects could spend the rest of their lives in prison if convicted of rape and kidnapping charges. Still, Williams and her family want more. They want the case prosecuted as a hate crime as well, something authorities have so far stopped short of doing.

How To Help: Blog About the incident to bring public attention to the horrors of rape of black women in this West Virgina Town. We want to keep the story in the news and on blog pages to make sure she gets fair and equal justice. Otherwise these folks from West Virginia may just get away with a year in prison, for something they should be spending life in prison for.

We are asking people to sign a petition in support of Megan Williams.

Other Ways to Help: Donate to the Megan Williams Trust Fund

Don't forget there will be a National March against hate on November 3rd in WV regarding the Megan Williams case.
