AAPP says: I found a great website, The Panache Report.com It has great stories, post and links to black celeberities that died with little or no fanfare.

As an old school brother, I Love this website, as Ms. Panache tracks everything I wanted to know about old school entertainers, and where they are now. Many, who have gone on to that great entertainment show in the heavens.

Myra Panache, Editor-Publisher, and founder of this website deserves a big shout out for keeping our music history alive.

On her website, Myra Panache highlights (Willie Hutch) Willie McKinley Hutchinson, known professionally as Willie Hutch (December 6, 1944 – September 19, 2005) was an singer, guitarist, songwriter, and record producer. Hutch, born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Dallas, Texas, is notable as both a performer and songwriter/producer for the Motown label during the 1970s. Before joining Motown, Hutch worked as a producer for acts such as The 5th Dimension. Besides writing hit songs such as The Jackson 5's "I'll Be There." Hutch also recorded several albums for Motown (and later for Whitfield Records, run by former Motown producer Norman Whitfield), and had top 20 R&B hits with singles such as "Brother's Gonna Work It Out" from the "Mack," soundtrack and "Slick" (both 1973). Following in the tradition of Curtis Mayfield, he recorded the soundtrack album for the blaxploitation films The Mack (1973) and Foxy Brown (1974) and he also contributed to the "Cleopatra Jones," soundtrack.

Hutch died on September 19, 2005 of reasons yet to be disclosed. He was 60.

Why do so many black male entertainers get caught up in the criminal justice system?

Lets start with one of the oldest ones, you remember how a three-judge appellate court upheld the 37-month federal prison sentence of legendary Isley Brothers lead singer Ron Isley. The sentence was related to his 2005 conviction for tax evasion. The court referred to Isley's continued failure to file tax returns or pay the full taxes due as "pathological" and ignored the singer's request for a lighter sentence due to his age (66) and health.

Isley is now imprisoned at the Terre Haute Federal Corrections Institution in Indiana and is not expected to be released until 2010.

Did Ron Isley get a raw deal? Do white at his age go to jail, or do that set up plans to repay the money?

On Tuesday, State Rep. Betty Brown (R) caused a firestorm during House testimony on voter identification legislation when she said that Asian-Americans should change their names because they’re too hard to pronounce:

“Rather than everyone here having to learn Chinese — I understand it’s a rather difficult language — do you think that it would behoove you and your citizens to adopt a name that we could deal with more readily here?” Brown said.

Brown later told [Organization of Chinese Americans representative Ramey] Ko: “Can’t you see that this is something that would make it a lot easier for you and the people who are poll workers if you could adopt a name just for identification purposes that’s easier for Americans to deal with?”

Yesterday, Brown continued to resist calls to apologize. Her spokesman said that Democrats “want this to just be about race.”

The Post Racial blog publisher says: OK, Ms. Betty Brown, it would behoove you to adopt a last name the relates to your ignorance, and is readily understandable. Let's have this Small Minded lawmaker change her own name to "Betty Bigot."

GlSEN.org is calling on Schools, Nation to Embrace Solutions to Bullying Problem

NEW YORK, April 9, 2009 - An 11-year-old Massachusetts boy, Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover, hung himself Monday after enduring bullying at school, including daily taunts of being gay, despite his mother's weekly pleas to the school to address the problem. This is at least the fourth suicide of a middle-school aged child linked to bullying this year.

Carl, a junior at New Leadership Charter School in Springfield who did not identify as gay, would have turned 12 on April 17, the same day hundreds of thousands of students will participate in the 13th annual National Day of Silence by taking some form of a vow of silence to bring attention to anti-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) bullying and harassment at school. The other three known cases of suicide among middle-school students

took place in Chatham, Evanston and Chicago, Ill., in the month of February.

"Our hearts go out to Carl's mother, Sirdeaner L. Walker, and other members of Carl's family, as well as to the community suffering from this loss," GLSEN Executive Director Eliza Byard said. "As we mourn yet another tragedy involving bullying at school, we must heed Ms. Walker's urgent call for real, systemic, effective responses to the endemic problem of bullying and harassment.

Especially in this time of societal crisis, adults in schools must be alert to the heightened pressure children face, and take action to create safe learning environments for the students in their care. In order to do that effectively, as this case so tragically illustrates, schools must deal head-on with anti-gay language and behavior." More HERE

Police and Feds Target HBCU's, New Black Panthers, Muslim Brotherhood, Others.

Even as the Department of Defense (DoD) Grants $17.4 Million To Minority Academic Institutions it may be spying on black campus groups who as one terrorism assessment finds radical nodes on HBCU campuses.

AAPP says: Here the government goes again folks. Targeting black folks, and black organizations as they have in the past. This reminds me of COINTELPRO (1967-1971). I guess this is COINTELPRO 2009. No wonder the United States Government seems to be involved with plans to place Federal troops to quell urban violence, but to protect who? The government should really be watching those white terrorist groups and not black folks.

The Assessment shows that police and feds are targeting "historically black colleges" as "radicalization nodes" for terrorists. RAW STORY has published the entirety of the 215 page report, available here in PDF format. From page 17:

A wide variety of terror or extremist groups have links to [a highlighted area of Virginia]. This area not only has a diverse population due to the strong military presence, but it is also the site of several universities.While most of these universities are considered urban, two are designated as a Historically Black Colleges and Universities, while Regent University is a private, evangelical Christian institution. While the majority of individuals associated with educational institutions do not engage in activities of interest to the VFC, it is important to note that University-based students groups are recognized as a radicalization node for almost every type of extremist group.Though the report singles out "historically black colleges" early on, it also contains an extensive list of peaceful American and International activist groups from nearly all cross-sections of political engagement, placing them side-by-side with groups that have long been known for resorting to violence. Jason Vasell - Color Aroused Prosecution in Massachusetts?

Well it looks like there continue to be big racial conflicts in Massachusetts. The Bay State Banner has been covering the case of Jason Vasell. The blog, Electronic Village has also followed the case. The Bay State Banner is reporting on a group that claims bias in UMass stabbing prosecution of biology student Jason Vassell. You see, as reported by the Bay State Banner, Jason Vasell was in his ground-floor University of Massachusetts dorm room hanging out with friends when two drunken strangers tapped on his window, asking for directions.

Bogus math from the White House?

My home town newspaper the Bay State Banner is reporting that estimates of Massachusetts stimulus jobs are uncertain at best. Get this, state officials overseeing the federal economic stimulus program in Massachusetts say they have no idea how the White House came up with one key pledge - the promise to save or create 79,000 jobs in the state. They say they're not even sure how to measure saved jobs - and fear the jobs figure sets an unrealistic yardstick against which the success or failure of the program will be measured. More

Jasmina Anema , Jasmine , and Bone Marrow Transpants

As reported by Access Hollywood, Kelly Rowland made it a very special birthday for Jasmina Anema, a Leukemia patient. The former Destiny’s Child singer joined Jasmina and her best friend, Isabelle, at NYU Medical Center today to help her young fan celebrate.

Jasmina is currently battling Leukemia and is in search of a bone marrow transplant. More HERE

Jasmine (bleow) is a sweet teenage girl who is currently in high school. She and her family live in Mashpee, Massachusetts.

Like most teenagers, Jasmine is very busy. “She is into acting, plays and chorus,” explained her mother, Kim James. Furthermore, Jasmine is a member of The National Honor Society and a member of Falcon Flavor, an R & B dance group. Jasmine is not only involved in many activities, she also maintains excellent grades.

Although Jasmine is doing well in her life right now, she also has been through quite a lot. When Jasmine was eleven years old, she was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). Kim explained that Jasmine was complaining of pain in her throat and had swollen glands. Initially, her doctor treated her for strep throat. However, one week passed by, and she still had pain. Her doctor then thought it might be a case of mononucleosis. Blood work was taken and the results came back showing leukemia. Kim remembers taking her children to the dentist that day. On the way there, she got a call from the doctor demanding that she see him right away. Upon hearing the diagnosis, Jasmine and her family were devastated. “What do you mean leukemia?” said Kim. “It was difficult to accept since Jasmine was always the healthiest kid and never got sick,” explained her mother.

Jasmine began chemotherapy. “She was very sick after chemo” stated Kim. “It took one month before the doctors figured out Jasmine had a secondary cancer, Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). They had to stop treating her for leukemia and treat her for HLH.” Once Jasmine was treated for her secondary cancer, they had to wait for her to go into remission. Without remission, they could not go forward with the transplant.” More HERE

Atrocities at Home - Funeral Homes, Funeral Services and Abuse of The Dead

This is some sick stuff. Check out how a local subsidiary of world's largest funeral services conglomerate mishandled bodies, employees say. Check out this video about the black man Steven Napper, embalmer-turned-whistleblower did the right thing and exposed the atrocities of the funeral services business for what it is.

As reported by Josh White at 'The Washington Post', Napper documented the atrocities he saw in notes and photographs and turned them over to authorities.

Napper, a retired Maryland state trooper, had been hired in May by National Funeral Home, which also acts as a regional clearinghouse that embalms and stores bodies for four other Washington area funeral homes -- Arlington Funeral Home, Danzansky-Goldberg Memorial Chapel in Rockville, and Demaine Funeral Home in Alexandria and Springfield. From May to February, when he quit, Napper said that the walk-in coolers could not hold all the bodies and that a manager told employees to store them in unrefrigerated areas. Read More HERE
