Well, guess what, now Barack Obama's former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., is being dogged by ABC News.
As reported by
Investigative reporters, The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama's pastor for the last 20 years at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago's south side, has a long history of what even Obama's campaign aides concede is "inflammatory rhetoric," including the assertion that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks with its own "terrorism." In a campaign appearance earlier this month, Sen. Obama said, "I don't think my church is actually particularly controversial." He said Rev. Wright "is like an old uncle who says things I don't always agree with," telling a Jewish group that everyone has someone like that in their family.
Rev. Wright married Obama and his wife Michelle, baptized their two daughters and is credited by Obama for the title of his book, "The Audacity of Hope."
AAPP: Candidly, I could care less what Obama's former pastor says about America, in the context of Barack Obama's presidency. As I have said before, Barack Obama's former pastor is not running for the presidency.at Politico.com are reporting on how Obama's church is accusing the media of character assassination.

CHICAGO – The church attended by Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) fought back Sunday against mounting criticism of its pastor, accusing the media of character assassination and “crucifixion.”
Otis Moss II, the current pastor of Trinity United Church, used his pulpit to defend his congregation and its past minister, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., from a wave of controversy stemming from inflammatory statements made by Wright.
"We have listened and watched as the wonderful work of our church has been vilified this week," he told about 3,000 congregants on Palm Sunday morning. "This week should be special for us because I guess we know a little something about crucifixion."
The church also released a statement that began: “Nearly three weeks before the 40th commemorative anniversary of the murder of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.’s character is being assassinated in the public sphere because he has preached a social gospel on behalf of oppressed women, children and men in America and around the globe.”
Trinity United, an 8,000-member church on the South side of Chicago, came under intense scrutiny over the past week for statements made by Wright that harshly criticized American society as racist and blamed U.S. leaders for the Sept. 11 attacks. Read More HERE
AAPP: So what do you think about this situation? Do you think Obama will weather this media storm? Don't you think it is time to keep it honest in 08' ?

This whole issue is incorrect!
Freedom of speech and religious freedom is being trompoled over while this attack is being waged on Pator Wright.
I for one am pissed the hell off about it! It is a one sided look at this issue.
I said it before and I will continue to do so~PASTOR WRIGHT IS NOT THE ONLY AMERICAN WHO HAS MADE STATEMENTS ABOUT THE GOVERNMENTS RESPONSIBILITY IN THE 9/11 TRAGEDY!
On the real tip~this is just a 21st Century witch hunting technique!
I wrote a post about this situation on my blog. I also posted Trinity's Creed and provided a link to the website. People who are interested in the truth should go there and look at what this body is about.
This is really just way out of line in my opinion. It is just an extension of the diverison and division actions that are traditionally used.
I am also angry that Barack has been held accountable for Pastor Wright's remarks. He did not make those statements~nor should he be put on the spot to defend or denounce his pastor.
This is really a rights issue in my mind. If a minister cannot preach according to his or her understanding and true beliefs~then we are really in deep doo-doo!
The media needs to get the hell up out of Trinity United Church of Christ and let Pastor Wright alone.
1. McCain backer Rev. Pat Robertson said America is damned — cursed by God because we allow feminists and queer people to live here.
2.McCain backer Rev. John Hagee says America is damned — cursed by God because we tolerate Muslims.
3.Obama supporter Rev. Jeremiah Wright says America is damned because we neglect the poor and practice bigotry.
For my money, the third sentiment is the only one that resembles the Gospel. Yet the mainstream media tells us we must tolerate hate — Hagee & Robertson— but not those who don’t believe we should tolerate hate — Wright.
Otis Moss II has compared the criticism of their recent pastor as 'crucifixion'. "Lynch" was the wrong word by Kelly Tilghman and "crucifixion" is even worse. Jesus Christ suffered and died on the crucifix for the sins of all of his people (Roman, Jew, African, etc.) Rev. Moss has chosen the holiest of all Christian holidays to aggravate this situation.
Barack Obama should NOT be judged by the words of his pastor. Rev. Moss should tell his congregation to celebrate the rebirth of Christ on Easter by forgiving the ignorance of many, many millions of people - including himself.
